Black Yogi Nico Marie
Nico Marie is one of my new favorite black yogis to support and take classes from. On her Instagram, she describes herself as a black yogi focused on “creating space for blackness in yoga.”
When I came across a video promoting her classes, I loved how unapologetically black she is. She admits to dedicating her teachings to anyone who look like her and anyone who would receive her. That is such a dope mission, and I’m 100% behind any daily yoga practice that affirms blackness.
Why take it?: She regularly uploads new yoga videos on her Youtube channel each week, so if you’re up for a yoga challenge, she most likely has playlists to support you.I love the idea of how she blends horoscopes with yoga. For example, she has a full moon Pisces self-soothing yoga class with affirmations to match. What a cool and unique way to personalize your yoga practice.

The Tree Yoga Coop
A Black & Latinx-Owned Yoga School & Wellness Hub that offers in-class and online classes merges English and Spanish-speaking communities to create a safe space for all.
They have an online presence on both Instagram and their site, which makes it easy to follow along and take their on-demand classes from the comfort of your home.
Why take it?: One word: accessbility. Nowhere online have I seen vinyasa flow classes taught in more than one language. Added bonus? If you’re looking for classes that cover guided meditations, look no further.

Arianna Elizabeth
What I love about this BIPOC yogi is that she commits to her yoga-themed challenges and nudges her community members to join her in the most supportive way. Her classes are easy and usually around the 30-minute mark but trust me, you’ll wish they were longer.
The level of support in her videos would have you believe they are live streamed or live classes going on.
Why take it?: As a fellow content creator, I admire those who create and upload content daily. Her content is high quality and well-thought-out, and you can tell that she really takes the time to create a great experience for her community.
Go take a class if you crave a slow, daily burn that your body will thank you for.

Yoga with Shaunneka
Specializing in therapeutic yin and slow flows, yoga teacher, Shaunneka does a great job of explaining the expectations of the movement with her calm and soothing voice. I was introduced to her yoga videos through a friend that recommended I take her Yin Yoga sequence class.
10 minutes into pressing play on the video, I knew I was in for an easeful time. One that would be spent focusing on my needs, not the fast-paced flow I was used to.
Why take it?: If you’re looking for a slower-paced class and more focused on the breath, this is the class for you. Shaunneka’s classes are perfect for beginners and those newer to the practice.

Are online yoga classes good?
For those looking for some yoga near home, this is a brilliant solution to cutting out time getting “cute for class” and driving to a yoga studio. The best part is that online yoga classes are super affordable, and some of the instructors on this list even offer free content.
Many of us can attest to loving the idea of committing to movement in the comfort of our own homes, so online yoga classes are a great way to get your yoga fix without even having to leave the house. You can do it in your pajamas, with no makeup, and nobody will be the wiser.
Just you and your mat getting your zen on, bloomer.
