ways-to-get-you-to-drink-more-water

Water is essential for life. It’s no secret that we need to drink plenty of water each day in order to stay healthy and hydrated. And with this summer heat, many people find themselves still pondering, how to drink more water when they don’t like it to begin with.

Trust me when I tell you that there are ways to ensure hydration is the priority, and it doesn’t have to be a chore. Here are 14 ways to make sure you’re getting your daily dose of H20.

Summer Hydration Safety Tips

Keep a reusable water bottle with you at all times

This way, when you’re feeling thirsty, you can easily satisfy your craving. I like to keep a water bottle on my desk when I’m working on content for Kb in Bloom, in the car, and next to my bed. That way, no matter where I am, I always have water within reach.

Make water more interesting by incorporating one of the best water bottles for motivation found directly right here on the blog.

Set daily water goals and track your progress

If you’re not used to drinking a lot of water, start small and gradually increase your intake. For example, try drinking four glasses of water a day for one week, then add an extra glass the next week.

Another idea to drink more water is is download an app that can help you track your water intake and remind you to sip water throughout the day.

Eat foods that contain water

If you’re someone that is wondering how to hydrate yourself without drinking water, did you know that there are actually plenty of foods that contain water? Watermelon, cucumbers, strawberries, and tomatoes are all great options.

Remember, to stay hydrated by eating some of the summer fruit and vegetables that contain a high water content.

Drink a glass of water first thing in the morning

For good water habits, start your day with a glass of water as soon as you wake up. Not only will it help you reach your daily intake goals, but it will also help to wake you up and get your body moving.

It helps jumpstart your metabolism and rehydrate your body after a long night’s sleep. Plus, it feels great!

Flavor your water with fruit or herbs

If plain old H20 isn’t doing it for you, make drinking water fun with spicing things up by adding some fruit or herbs to your water. This is a great way to make drinking water more enjoyable.

Talk about drinking some delicious water with mint, lemon, and cucumber slices!

 Use a straw

Sometimes the quickest way to hydrate at home is to use items that make you want to drink water. If you’re still not convinced that water is the best beverage for you, try using a straw.

Studies have shown that people who drink through straws tend to consume more water than those who don’t.

Drink cold water

If you find it hard to drink a lot of water during the day, try drinking cold water. It’s been shown to boost your metabolism and help you burn more calories.

If cold water doesn’t work for you then try drinking room-temperature water to make it more tolerable.

Drink water with meals

Another good way to make sure you’re getting enough water is to drink it with meals. This will help you to stay hydrated and also make you feel fuller.

I purposely make certain foods that will make me drink more water like adding soup to my diet. Literally, giving me water to drink during a meal when I’m most parched is a good way to down a lot of water in one sitting.
